This article takes graphing to the personal level – having students walk out speed and velocity graphs. I really like the idea of having students walk out position over time graphs. However, I think adding the complexity of walking out velocity graphs would be too challenging and potentially confusing to my students. I think this idea would be better suited for more advanced students or high school students. The article includes instructions and diagrams for both activities with great guiding questions to further students understanding. The concept map on position, displacement, time and velocity would be helpful in explaining the concept of velocity to students. However, I will stick with the position over time graphs for now, and only use the velocity over time graphs for my more advanced students.
