Hi everyone,
A couple weeks ago in the midwest (Chicago specifically) we experienced a "derecho." Has anyone ever heard of this weather pattern before? We were up until around 1am listening to tornado sirens, hearing rain smack against the windows, and getting frightened by the sound of branches cracking outside our house.

I have a lot of experience in these situations. I was an elementary school aide (5th grade) for three years before starting my Master's program. During those years, I coached high school baseball...and, like you, I sometimes pass for a senior in high school. Talk about a long day!

Hi Ashley, I've heard differing opinions on "beefing" up your resume. Some districts in my state (Illinois) prefer an applicant have a Master's degree, while other districts hesitate at hiring a Master's teacher because of the increased salary and cost to the district.
What state are you in? I would assume any credentials that include Math or Reading/LA can only help you...as well as a ELL/...
