I think that you would need to base it off of standards and finding activities that fit best and that you won't need too many materials for the class to work with. I think that finding a good activity with minimum materials needed is best so that you don't stress as much with having to have too many things for them.

I have seen the same thing in my student teaching classroom. I have noticed that many schools are barely teaching science related concepts or anything with STEM. I think that it is important to find different ways to include STEM within the classroom. One of the ways that it can be included is to find resources that include lessons on STEM and I think that NSTA has many good resources.

Weather Watchers
I like this lesson because it has students be weather watchers which to me this would be a fun activity for a first grade class. I like how the lesson plan is already aligned to standards between the grades of K-3. This also includes for students to learn about the different forms of clouds which would help them to understand for the weather.

Pushes, Pulls, and Playgrounds
I think that this is a good article because covers motion. This is good article for kindergarten and first grade teachers can use. I like that it also includes the standards that this lesson aligns to. I think its good that they added the standards because it helps the teacher to see what the lesson aligns to and then go off of that when pointing out the importance of knowing and learning about motion.

Color Investigations
I like this article because it talks about the importance of students to start at an early age to learn the colors and to use them in the classroom in many different ways. I also like that it includes a lesson for students to work on in the classroom.
