I did an experiment like this one year and I was super interested in it. I think this might be intersting for some students because they will be able to see the differences between them and their friends and they will learn about why this happens.

Hello, there is a website called Generation Genius. It gives a lot of hands-on activities that the students can complete, along with a list of materials. You can look through them and pick some that you think will be simple enough to complete at home with materials they may have.

I think the Oreo activity that was mentioned above will be a fun activity for students to learn about the phases of the moon. I remember doing that one in elementary school and everyone loved it.
