I completely agree! Music, chants, and rhymes are all great strategies that can be used to enhance lessons and engage students.

This book chapter has some great ideas on how to incorporate writing in science notebooks. There are paragraph/ sentence starters and it also includes a guide on how to assess these notebooks.
Hope it helps!

I am a huge Teachers Pay Teachers and Pinterest user, and I always find amazing lessons that teachers have put together. I wonder how I can give due credit to those teachers when I use their ideas. Should I write their links on my lesson plans? Or do I just mention their name in my notes? What do you think?

Wed, Oct 30, 2019 3:41 PM Great insight on how to plan and execute a science inquiry-based lesson
This article gave a great example of a science inquiry-based lesson. As a new teacher, I have been struggling to translate my research on the theory and information into actual practice. The authors break down their lesson in an easy to follow procedural list. Great resource!
Mon, Oct 07, 2019 10:17 AM Great "How-To" Resource for Formative Assessments
This chapter gives a detailed explanation of how science teachers can effectively plan and execute formative assessments. It provides a "checklist" of sorts that I find very useful as a teacher to use during my planning. It is also an easy read.
