I think getting their attention right off the bat makes it easier. Keep things as hands on whenever possible. Although, you will always have that one child who is always "bored" and will be off task. Try to be creative when possible.

I will be graduating December 2017 and I am so excited for what is to come. I hear so many horror stories about teachers second guessing their career choice but I am not letting that control how I feel. I think everyone is responsible for what they make out of their career. I agree you must stay positive to see positive results.

I will be graduating in December but have you thought about the school you are student teaching at? I know a lot of schools like to keep their student teachers upon graduation. Also, attend job fairs throughout the town you live in.
